Origin Story

Key Burrito was born out of the unending pursuit to find the perfect way to combine two very essential items I carry everywhere, my wallet and keys.  I’ve tried many different keychains and wallets over the years and none of them quite fit what I was looking for.  I went from a large bi-fold wallet, to a card holder wallet, to an elastic wallet on a keychain. I consolidated my messy arrangement of keys on a lanyard, to a key organizer, to a couple of keys on a carabiner.

My goal was to combine my wallet and keys into one simple item I could either have in my pocket or secured to a carabiner.  I searched far and wide across the internet which yielded little results.  I was stuck with my keys jingling alongside my elastic wallet flopping around on my hip attached to a carabiner (awful).  I knew there had to be a better way to carry my two essential items and that other people must be thinking the same thing.  So I decided to borrow my Mom’s sewing machine and send it!

After over 2 years and almost 100 prototypes, I finally created the Key Burrito!  At last, a way to bring together my keys and wallet into an easy to use, clean looking (sometimes colorful) minimalist solution.  No more jingling keys and no more boring floppy wallet.  My goal to create the ultimate way to combine your wallet and keys is finally complete!  I now have the opportunity to share my creation with other people, so they too can experience the best way to “wrap your wallet and keys together”.
